Indie rock torch-bearer and modern Matador mainstay CAR SEAT HEADREST is back with a new studio LP after a long five years! His new album The Scholars is out this Friday (5/2/25) and the lead tracks have been pretty intriguing so far. It's sounding dense and borderline proggy based off the three non-consecutive cuts that are up for streaming. Looking forward to hearing everything more in place and context. One of the lead tracks is 8 minutes long and another is nearly eleven, so it's got my attention already.
