Today's daystarter spin is THE HEPTONES' Swing Low LP. Originally pressed in 1985 by London reggae imprint Burning Sounds, which was distributed by Trojan, the record has been repressed by the original label to 180 gram vinyl with added extensive liner notes. It's a mellowed out roots reggae / lovers rock spin with a little dub splash and mood-lifting horn work, making it ideal for a growingly humid summer day. The cast of musicians includes luminaries ROBBIE SHAKESPEARE (bass), SLY DUNBAR (drums), LLOYD PARKS (bass), EARL "CHINNA" SMITH (guitar), WINSTON WRIGHT (keys), as well as two of the three original members EARL MORGAN and BARRY LLEWELYN. 40 years old this year!
