| Wax Museums Traffic Violation 7" Douchemaster 2007. ![]() ---------------------------------- The newest, hot release in spot-on moronipunk! Awesome, fast, sloppy, dumb, repetitive, jumpy. Some days this is just exactly how I like my punk. Correction - most days. If ya haven't quite had enough to drink, it'll give you a headache, yet if you've had too much, it'll send your head reelin and your body crashing! Think Homostupids and old Reatards stuff. Yeah, you see the direction these guys are going in. This is definitely party-worthy music right here of the thrash-about variety. Looks as if Douchemaster is breaking away from that powerpop hole that they had started digging for themselves after their last onslaught of amazing releases. And what a 7" to do it on! If you like the powerpop, sure, pick this up on a whim, but you're gonna like it for totally different reasons. Hell, it's the opposite of powerpop, and in that it's an awesome release for this label to sling out at us. I had picked up an earlier release of the Wax Museums, though I forget which one exactly at this point, and I fell in love with it; I was beside myself to see Douchemaster releasing this. These guys are right there playing music for you when you're at your most agitated and about to lose it. One of those perfect right after work, unwinder records. The crash of the guitar and the nervous basslines will help ya blow any thoughts from earlier in the day right out of the back of your head. Once you've hit the right level and you've heard it enough, you'll have no problem joining in on a sloppy chorus or two! Unbutton your top button, lose the shoes and toss that McD's hat across the room, it's time to relax. Now all I have to do is just sit back and wait for Empty Records to pick up on 'em and announce they're releasing the full length!! Screw every day life. This is music for the frustrated. What's going on in Denton, Texas? -chaz martenstein.
